Most reliable engine/model?

my 2005 3.0 2wd came with a 8.8 l/s 4.10

Good Thread!

Im gonna throw my hat in the ring though, All 3 of my 2.3 powered trucks are at or have gone over 180k and the only problem i have had with any of them as far as the engine goes is one of em tried to eat a timing belt..

And one had a leaky front seal but i caught it before it got too bad..

Ohh that and i hate the hydraulic motor mounts. ive gone through probably 6 separate sets

The only Rangers that had the 8.8 were the 4.0L ones. No 3.0 ones ever had one from the factory, regardless of cab configurations.

later,
Dustin

i had to check the tech library. its '98+ 4x4 extended cabs that come with 8.8's, doesnt matter what powerplant.

sorry guys you're both wrong,my door sticker and factory 2.9l engine in my 91 say so.its not the norm for sure but ford actually put together some good packages on accident:icon_thumby::icon_rofl:
