so my 2.8 i jus got all running again is leaking oil, what are the usual spots these motors leak oil from? there is oil pools by the upper radiator hose housing an down from there. and since it was running again it has no power, as in takes looooong time to accelerate an tops out bout 55mph if you have enough road lol before it had any troubles it topped out at about 80-85 an didnt take long to get there. any suggestions?

runs well now though ha just leaks oil an has no power

That high on the engine it is most likely the valve cover gaskets, but could also be intake gasket. The front and rear seals have a tendency to leak also.

As to the power loss, I read in your other post that it was retimed. Check and make sure the spout connector got reconnected. The computer uses that to advance engine timing. Make sure all vacuum lines are connected. Check the plugs, rotor and distributor cap. Last, but not least do a compression check.

Yea id prob go with the valve covers i did that on my 84 BII with the 2.8 but now my oil pan is leakin about a qaurt a day and that wont be fun at all from what i here.

Could be the engine itself, wiring problems in the truck, or very likely the pickup coil in the bowl of the distributor (sometimes an intermittent connection internally, but easy to check for someone who knows how to use a multimeter)

For the power loss would like to know more about the engine. Like Jorley sed oil leak most likely the valve cover gaskets, but could also be intake gasket. my best gess to.
