Hello all. I was merging onto the interstate yesterday and had my 2.9 up to 4 and 1/2 grand in 3rd when it made an awful "clunk" like it had just shut down. Is that the motor turning to fast for the distributor to keep up at the nylon gear?

Did it actually quit?

Or is it just missing.

If its just missing my guess is either the TFI is getting ready to take a shit or popped a valve spring.
