Thumper113 (warrlord) grenaded a warn hub body as well......but thats what 38" swampers and a detroit locker up front will get ya.

If I were buying new hubs for my truck, I'd go with Warn. I like their hubs that I've used on other trucks. Something to consider though. You want/need a weak link in your drive train, so when you get stuck something can break. Hubs would be the best place for this since they are easily serviceable.

Yea, hubs are easier to change but they are expensive. Axles are cheap at junkyards and dont take long at all to change. Id rather break a axle then a hub but thats just me.

I've never seen a Warn 37780 hub break. I've seen lots of the factory hubs, and Warn hubs--which I think are the same--break. My Pilemarkers didn't last long enough to break the body--the insides looked just like rascan's the first time I applied force to them. The autohubs are better than the Pilemarkers provided you give them a few drivetrain revolutions after a change in direction before hammering on the gas.

It's not uncommon for a broken axle joint to take out a hub, or vice-versa. The end of the outer stub is supported by the lock-out bearing/bushing. If you break the hat off with the pedal to the metal the axle will wobble and the joint can pop. If you break a joint and don't realize it you can definatetely knock the end of the stub hard enough to bust the hat off. Both parts don't fail at the same time. I broke an outer last time I was at Attica and it took the hub out. The joint went first and was clunking pretty badly but I kept trying to make this climb and ended up with the hub on that side broken. WHen the joint broke the two yokes hit together and I think one of them drove the other up and broke the hub on the other end.

i actually just swapped my factory auto hubs (they didnt work-typical ) for a set of rugged ridge ones. ilike em so far. quick ???. what's the best way to maintain these hubs. grease wise etc.

ive always just poured 80w-90 gear oil in them and then slid them on. you dont want to pack them with grease.

Let me write this down:

ANYTHING that breaks on a Ranger based vehicle (without an SAS swap nvolving Dana 60's at both ends) when that vehiucle is equipped with 35" or larger tires is by definition "rare breakage"

Anything that breaks with a V8 swap is also "Rare breakage".

There are far more than 1000 4.0 4x4 Rangers on the road for
every V8swapped ranger lurking out there, so 1:1000 is "Rare"
