Ok i got a 91 ranger im bored with and wanna go different directions with it has a 4in susp lift and 3in body with 33s and a tiregate which i already built. I do know i will be ditching the body lift. Im in michigan theres not many prerunners around nor deserts but im looking to do some two tracking and sand dunes with it and also DDing it cause i have a xj which is now my trail rig. Im looking as of right now to get the prerunner look and built from there i just dont really know where to start with the susp. i have a spare dana 35 and radius arms. I can also weld and fab up stuff pretty well. Im just wondering how to setup the susp front and rear. I been thinking xj coils but i want some other advise. I wont be doing any jumping anytime soon. And as i said mild setup. Any help, advise is appreciate.

also whats a good coil cause right now i have a really stiff ride i believe there superlift coils and leaf pack now

it's gonna take longer than two hours on a sunday to get a response. are you sure its your springs and not your shocks? crappy shocks can make your springs seem too stiff.

hey, where abouts in michigan are you?

i know i dont have a ranger, but im doing mild long travel on my TTB f-150, and you should go with your 4" or 6" coil, cut n turn your beams, and maybe extend them.
then, go with a 10" stroke shock, i ordered a 12" stroke for mine, because im running a 6" deaver coil, but you should be good with a 10" stroke
for the shocks, you will need to fab a new upper mount.
also, longer radius arms are a must have.

then, limit straps so your u-joint doesnt bind up, should be able to strap it up around 12-16" of travel, at least thats what it is on the fullsize TTB
also, any sway bars, ditch those.
and dont forget longer brake lines.

i think thats everything for the front..

for the rear, go deaver, or do the chevy 64" spring with a re-arch, and the little shackle flip thing with some good shocks, bilstein 5100's are good for the fullsize, so i imagine they work with rangers?

Take all this with a grain of salt, im only 17 and learning about all this myself.
heres a pic of my truck at full droop (it will be strapped before it hits this angle, as my u-joint is not happy about it)

hope that helps...

Does light actually shine through that black?

...stock headlights dont work, there is a 6 place light bar going on the roof, and 3 4" lights behind the grill. i wont be short on lights, but maybe on amps. ha.
