mexican fords?

so checking out the Mexican ford web site. well they have a different focus and ranger and something called a ecosport... why? why is it they get cooler cars than use and they are across the border and Canada gets the same ones as use? clicky

most times a car company decides not to sell something in America it comes down to one of two or a combination of both reasons:

1. Some US regulation that has to do with emissions or crash safety would increase the cost of development and production to the point that the money made by selling it here would be outweighed or minimized by the money spent in meeting regulations.

2. The manufacturers opinion of America is that we are a bunch of fat rednecks that will only buy gigantic cars and trucks, and they decide that the car would not succeed in the North American market.

The truck probably wouldn't pass U.S. safety and emissions standards which means forking out more money to get it up to U.S. code. Not to mention customs and the costs of that.

man those 4 door rangers would be nasty on 35s and that ecosport dosnt look half bad for an suv like an explorer escape had a baby. its crazy how they have such diiferent body styles too.
