mechanical fuel pump

i ordered a mechanical fuel pump for a 1973 ecoline van ,with a 302 and poewr steering.the pump i got was not the right one,it mounts boelow,not the inverted pump i was looking for. did i order the wrong year?or should i get one that is for non power steering?

I'd be easier to just use a Mr. Gasket 12S or 12D electric pump. I've had one on my 89 since I did the swap 7 years ago. 35gal/hr--4-7psi. Enough pump to feed a 3 carb, 400+hp 331.
