Figuring a 20* ramp my truck is scoring 875ish before unloading a coil up front. With some more coil and a softer coil rate I might get into the 900's.

did i guess wrong? i thought this thread would have blown up by now!

I was about 960 here (94" up the ramp, 98" wheelbase, 23° ramp angle)...

I've since put longer shocks & coils on the front though, and changed to different rear leaf springs, so I know I'd be more than that now (I've since taken measurements of 20.5" flex up front, 19" rear (tires to the fenders)... figure that'd be forklifting a tire nearly 40" up off the ground... So guessing around 1050 maybe? (that's not including the deflection of the tire you'd normally have on a ramp either)

As for why the thread hasn't blown up yet (as you put it), it might be because ramp indexes are completely relative, there are too many variables. You can't compare the numbers except in cases of identical vehicles with identical wheelbase and track widths (and even then, there are still dozens of ways you can "fudge" the numbers).
Best use for an RTI number is if you're checking to see what kind of improvements a particular modification has on your own rig. Ramps can also be a useful tool to check what length shocks you need too. Beyond that I really don't put a lot of weight on their importance.

this is absolutely right on the money.rti's kinda died out for a good reason....they don't really mean much.

890 on a 20* ramp, need longer shocks in the back still had about 3 inches left in the front

i understand what you mean with ways to fudge the numbers and whatnot. but for me, i want to keep making my truck better and improve flex. so i thought maybe people would be interested in what i've done to get where i am. and vise versa. we hear alot about someone doing this or that, but never get any real numbers on what it did for them. plus seeing what kinda of flex people are getting gives me motivation.

Here a fairly recent pic that I think was pretty close to maxing mine out (while out wheeling too, not just posing on a ramp). Didn't bother to get any measurements though.

(I say "pretty close" because I though I might've felt bumpstop contact at that moment, but it still didn't do a 3-wheel stand)

that there is some mighty fine motivation! and still TTB. love it!
