Me,Strep,and the V.A.

This sucks, I just got to the point of feeling better from strep. My tonsils need to come out, already has been determined. Surgery was scheduled for June 9, but now is not scheduled until a sleep study is done because the doctor seen or felt (IDK) something else and instead of having 2 surgeries, i will have one.
The problem is, the sleep study is scheduled for Sept 12!!!! I have started to feel better from a recent Strep throat and missed some work. today, I am getting another sore throat, right ear is starting to hurt and feel miserable. This sucks, guess I am going to live on Amoxicillin 500mg for the rest of the year. I normally have strep 3 - 4 times a year, last year was one of the best years, one case of strep, and that was December. this is a bunch of

A tonsillectomy or related surgery is one treatment for sleep apnea.

You're not the first person I've run into who has had to wait a ridiculous time for a sleep study or followup.

You can try raising hell, as the difference between treatment delayed and treatment denied is more than a bit fuzzy. Let us know how that goes...
