mazda 4.0 ticking

My 94 Mazda B4000 4.0 5 speed has a bad tick only when its warmed up. I would really like to get rid of this noise. what could it be?

most likely the 4.0's notorious upper end lube problems making itself heard.

start by checking oil pressure (your stock gauge is a dummy light and doesnt tell you anything, you need to know what your oil pressure is at warm idle with a real, mechanical gauge).

Well, I got a 88 B2200 and the engine has a very noisy valve tick. I bought a set of lifters and the ticking went away.
