mating a4ld to 2.9 wtf

ok its 3am ive been in the garage since ten. i finished sealing up the motor go to put it in and everything is going fine until they are about 3/4 inch away from being together. The engine is where is should be if I lower it down it lines right up with the motor mounts. is there any kind of a trick? This is the first time i have ever had to put a motor into a truck ive pulled a few but i would really apreciate any help. Like i said late and lack of sleep im sure you guys know what its like

is the converter lined up?

yes the torque convertor is lined up it just doesnt want to slide together the last 3/4 of an inch.

Right before going in with the engine, did you spin the TC while pushing it to the rear? I'm thinking that it may not have been fully seated on the input shaft. Hope you get it sorted out; I hate it when things don't go right when I'm wrenching. Good luck.
