1989 4x4 Ranger xlt 2.9 Auto trans.112,000 miles showing? As I have posted before am running rich ,Mechanic cannot find any codes,Did find bad vacuum hose I replaced it Mechanic said that should fix it. Now I am not sure How much I want to believe him, So I called another mechanic he said check and or replace the o2, air charge and the Map sensors since a scan revealed no problems( a former ford dealer mechanic) In his opinion theses were the problem or at least one of them was . I cannot afford to replace all of them right now. So let me here from yall please. Thanks

Let me get this straight.

No codes = replace HEGO, ACT, and MAP?

Was he wearing his patented psychic helmet?

Any chance this bad vacuum hose went to the MAP?

Map,Air charge, or O2 sensor

Thats what I was thinking, thats why I asked on here. And yes the bad vacuum line was to the Map sensor Any tips Thanks

a bad vacuum line to the MAP will cause a very rich condition.

i find it a bit odd that you didnt recieve any rich codes while it was running with the MAP hose messed up.

have you driven the truck since repairing the hose?

Yes No codes, Don't understand either. yes I have driven a little with the new vacuum line but not enough to tell if that was the only problem. Thanks for your info maybe that new line cured it.
