Gas guage sometimes works, it will work for like a couple hrs and then will sit on e for weeks at a time.

Temp guage only rises to the bottom line.

Odometer doesn't work at all.

I'm not mechanical at all, wondering what this is going to cost me?

I have a 1996 2.3 4 banger.

I put a can of seafoam in the gas tank and the guage worked for two days.

gas gauge is probably the sending unit in the tank

the temp gauge could be working fine maybe someone put a 180 t-stat in.

odometer is probably the speed sensor. I think it is in the differential. $20

As for the fuel gauge issue, I had the same problem as you. The brass float for the sending unit had a small pin hole in it causing it to loose its buoyancy. I got just the brass barrel float portion from mustangs unlimited for about 13 bucks shipped to my door. The catalog will call out fitting a 67-68 mustang, disregard that, It was a perfect fit on my truck. As for the odometer, my coworker had the same issue, we took the cluster/speedo apart and found the plastic drive gears stripped for the digits. We ended up going to the junk yard and getting another speedo.
