mall crawler stuck

But "that's what you do with these straps." LOL that's one of the all time most ignorant things I have ever seen.

No kidding eh? I like the guy's response. "No, no it's not. You put on a little pressure and tug. Pulling is one thing, driving 20 in reverse is another" That was an epic fail of a recovery.

What an idiot.

It looks better without the bumper though, if he didn't fawk his frame over.

But then again, I'm a fan of small pre-runner bumpers.

all in favor of revoking his right to drive a ranger? hell any truck??

It makes me wonder....
If he slowly backed up just until all the slack was out of the strap, and then tried to pull the Ram out, would he have been able to? In my limited experience tuggin' stuff with the Ranger, I wouldn't think so. Not that the Ranger doesn't have the power to do it, but it just doesn't have the mass. My guess is it would just sit there and all four tires would dig to China.
That's what I have done anytime I have pulled something. At least try to simply pull it first, without jerking it.
If he would have left just a few inches of slack in the strap, and then gave it a little gas, he probably could have done it. True, the guy shooting the video didn't know he was going to be such a jackass, but he still should have schooled him on how to do it first. And if this idiot had a rear frame mounted hitch and just chose not to use it, he's that much more of a jackass.

What an idiot.

That made my day!!!

He deserves some kind of smartest of the retarded award.

Lol i seen that video in the realated link to a video i posted, it was hilarious.

Well there is a difference between a firm tug with maybe >1 ft. of slack and 20 frickin metres. Just a pull from taut might not have worked so you tug from 6 inches or so.
