Making Rollbars

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

I'm messing with ya guys!!!! I was at work and for some reason Stacey David's Purple Bronco came to mind,remember when he started to strip it down and got to the Roll Bars?? They had the pipe insulation on them? I started thinking, with twitches thread being locked about his seat in the bed and the welding rod in the mig so he could tig with the wrong gas.....well I just could not resist.......:icon_hornsup:

the first thing that came to mind was you were copying the welding thread. the second thing i thought of was that same episode of trucks! the more i read i actually started buying into it. i was curious why you thought of 1" or 3" but not 2" or anywhere in between???

I loved it when Stacey was getting ready for the Roll Bar removal and just heaved it at his camera man!!! They must have replayed that one scene 4 or 5 times, the way it came apart, that was hiliarious!!! Just to think someone actually built that, and for what? They served no purpose.:D

That's funny because when I first started reading this the first thing that came to mind was the 'Trucks' episode you're referring to.

i saw it was reno, i was like-"i bet he is writing this thread for twitch...."

Do those pool noodles not work better than PVC or even Steel? If you used enough of them the truck might actually float so you wouldn't have to worry about getting water in your engine...

They come in all sorts of colors and you don't have to wrap them with anything to prevent banging your head on them...they're covered in foam already...

Hey that is an idea!! :icon_idea: They are easy to bend into shape, then I could post over at stacey's site to see if he will air my truck with all the great mods I made. I can evenmake "Pipe" bumpers, A body lift and Dual exhaust as well.

:bsflag:

pvc is so 80's. and to rigid. You should use flexible muffler pipe.

funny thing is there use to be a guy that drove this dodge truck.All nascar truck style.but he had pvc pipe duct taped all over the cab to look like he had a roll cage.

With PVC I would stick two chunks of 3inch up threw the bed, so it looks like stacks. Just make sure to get some aluminum spray paint. (red neck/mexican chrome in a can) and don't mask off the back window ether

this reminds me, just last week i was looking for a bumper in the local junk yard, i saw a ranger with an awesome looking roll bar! no rust, not bent, mint!!! i literally ran over to it and put my hand on it and it broke in to about 5 pieces.. need i say more it was pvc. man was i p.o.ed. i missed the episode of trucks though, darn!

dang! there goes my idea for fabbin' up an exoskeleton, I like that NASCAR style cage
