Making a coin

What I am talking about doing is using ancient coin making techniques. I can punch out the slugs with a BFH and a hole punch / cookie cutter type thing . I can use regular store bought dies for the lettering on the back no big deal there, could even weld them together in order to make it repeatable. I have no idea what to do about a face, and the symbol I want on the front of it. I am no artist by any means at all, never have been. I can screw up playing hang man drawing...... So what I am asking is an idea or even help to desing a punch for the obverse which will entail a face and a symbol. I have figured out a rig where I can put the slug on top of the reverse die use a guide for the obverse die, heat the dies and a BFH to make it. This is how basically all coins were made before machines....
