Magical disappearing oil

Thanks guys will do. When I noticed I was low on oil I refilled it with 1 qt lucas oil additive and topped it off with 5w30, It hasn't dropped since.

dont feel bad.. ive got a 99 4.0 with 110k i bout new heads from alabama cyl and first 3k its been great... other day it was ticking really bad.. checked out.. was down 3 qts!! an i just did an oil change 1k miles ago.. no leaks new pcv and no egr.. i noticed every ones in a great moon it would puff on start up . now it doesnt look like it puffs and expecially going down the rd it doesnt.. exhaust isnt oily or smelly. and antifreeze is green..

Destroyer how do you like the AVM hubs? I just got mine and now am looking for hubcaps that let me lock and unlock without removing hubcap

Ok guys I am still loosing oil will have to compression test it. Could it just be a valve guide seal?

That I can change just by taking the valve covers off.

Any thoughts?

Well guys I am getting in deep now I just bought a 92 Topaz with 82000 miles on it from an old guy who wanted it out of his garage. I got it so that I can park my truck, I decided to go ahead and change the valve cover gaskets. So I was wondering if anybody had some tips for me to make my life a little easier. I would like to check valve adjustment and guide seals while the covers are off.
Any help is appreciated.

What may seem not normal for others seems normal to me for a 12 year-old engine. You imply you ran 2500 miles, and you were down 3 qts. so that works out to about 1 qt. consumed every 850 miles.

My 91 3.0 consumes a qt around 800-900 miles. Is that normal? Would others think its normal? I have 300k+ miles and a small leak and my engine oil consumption seems normal to me.

My truck doesn't consume oil, i have 253,800 on mine, no engine work done, it seeps out mainly around the drain plug but it doesn't drip and every time i check the oil level its right where its suppose to be i consider myself lucky lol
