Maf Maybe

I have a 98 2.5 that will not idle on it's own till it's warmed up. After warm up it will idle but any attempt to give it any gas will cause it to stumble and shake and eventually cut-off. If I unplug the MAF sensor it will run fine. I'm asuming the MAF is bad. Any ideas? I incorrectly assumed it was the fuel pump , so $281 later I have the same problem. I never had a check engine light come on till I unplugged the MAF sensor wiring.

maybe you should try cleaning it, i don't know if you did already, but some helpful people here gave me this link. it shows how to clean the maf up, hope it helps good luck!

I cleaned it hoping that would help. It didn't.
