1990 models with a 11/'89 or later MFG date were fitted with the D35 (same goes for 1990 Rangers also).

Not only that, ALL D35 Equipped Rangers/Explorers/BroncoII
were also factory equipped with the 13-54 T-case

And the switch from the D28 and the 13-50 to the D35 and 13-54 was done
in November of 1989 at the beginning of the 1990 model year run...

Btw im not so sure the Shiftster is even manufactured any more, i was trying to get one a couple months ago, and every where i read said they stopped making them?? can anyone clarify???
