Lower MPG with wider tires?

I have a set of Michelins on my Navajo right now, good tires, lasted 40k miles of abuse. They do alright off-road, better than I expected. They ride very nice on the road, though, that part is true.

I guess you pay oe way or another. Arn't michelin tires generally expensive?

Yes but they last longer too, so it's probably a wash. It's just a matter of do you have $200 per tire to spend?
