Real quick question.

I believe that I have a coolant/oil leak being caused by a loose lower intake.

(See my other thread for more background)

All signs points towards (hopefully this is all) a vacuum leak on the intake manifold.

The question is this. The instructions in the tech library do not mention taking the upper intake off to tighten the lower bolts... but I cannot readily see a way to tighten them with the upper intake on.

Can the lower bolts be tightened with the upper manifold still attached or should/must the upper manifold be removed?

you need to take the upper intake off, not hard at all and often the gasket is still in perfect reusable condition still(at least has always been for me).

Yeah, did the process already.

Its all in neat book form in my "1994 OHV" thread probably one or two threads below this one.

That gasket was just fine, but still dealing with trying to discover low vacuum readings.
