Lost key, where can i find the key code

Im a ding dong and lost my keys somewhere last nite. Probably burried in the snow ill find it in a few months lol. Dealers say they go back only 10 years to get the key code from the VIN. Is it located anywhere else? I know on my old toyota it was on the pass side lock cylinder.

If you remove a lock cylinder any locksmith can tell by the tumblers. I would personally find a new dealer since I have gotten key codes for older than that from a local Ford dealer in Buffalo. The real problem is they aren't supposed to give them out, only cut the key.

Ford only goes back to 98 for key codes, older than that, you'll have to get a locksmith to make ya a key, and they don't remove the cylinder to do it to the best of my knowledge, a good one just has a feel for the cuts he needs.
