Looking for reco on toppers

Not many toppers haul much on the roof anyways.

My topper is probably close to 30 years old and has never had any mounts added.

My experience has been that you have to special order one with a reenforced roof in order to be able to carry a load unless you get a rack system designed to wrap around the cap so as to distribute the load onto the bed sides directly.

I’ve been told that carrying a load on a fiberglass cap not designed for it will eventually crack the roof or corners where the roof meets the sides.

Aluminum caps seem to be different because of how they are constructed since there is an aluminum frame supporting the skin and any racks that my be attached to it.
