Interested in more information on the 2.5 l engine. I know it was installed in the ranger for a short period of time but wanted to know how many rangers were produced with this engine. Does the 2.5 l engine make my Ranger unique?

No, the 2.5l doesn’t make your Range unique... it makes it slow.

The 2.5L is pretty much just a 2.3L with a slightly longer stroke. It’s based off (and sometimes referred to as ) the old Pinto engine.

If you want to go fast you need a 2.9L

4.10 gears will do the most bang for the buck in performance. Especially if you have a really high ratio like 3.45 or 3.55 gears now.
