looking for good cheap speakers

x2 on the kenwood ones. Im running those in my truck (or at least i was while my truck was running) and they sounded good, no complaints.

as far as crutchfield goes, i usually use it for info, review, etc but occasionally when they put some things on sale you can get some good deals

x2 been checkin out crutchfield alot for the info but do most of my buying from sonicelectronix or ebay if i find the right deal

I have a pair of the Kenwood 6x8s in the back of my truck and they sound great, really cant beat them for the money.

The advantage of Crutchfield is that when you buy something from them you get the all the adapters you need to install it and a master install sheet for free. i priced out my system at Crutchfield.com and at Sonicelectronix.com and ended up saving $30 buying from Crutchfield.

oooo all the stuff to install it correctly. with out cutting and hacking into your oem system. got ya and the master install sheet is only good the first time. after you do it once you know what your doing. but its cool they do that.

Yeah the connectors make installation stupid simple, and if it is the first time you have worked on a vehicle the mastersheets make life really easy but after the first install you really don't need them anymore.

What are people using that are not using an amp? If I can, I would like to just swap out the speakers with a 2 or 3 way speaker and run them off the factory head unit. I have a 4ch Alpine and all the wiring I could use but I am trying to keep this truck as simple as possible. I also have a pair of 6X9 Pioneers but i understand those are not a good idea??

A good set of door speakers is all you need out of life........ unless you just like headaches or are completely deaf.

My radio goes louder than I care to listen to it, so I'm happy with just 4 new aftermarket speakers.

www.onlinecarstereo.com if you like dealing in the gray market. Really low prices on some good stuff. crutchfield is nice for tech support, their accessories, and adapters but the added price doesnt make it worth if for people who know what they are doing. I'd recommend the amp to minimize distortion, even at lower listening levels the speakers perform better if they are supplied with adequate power. It's also nice to be able to crank tunes when you want to.

Currently $59 shipped... You will NOT beat this deal in terms of price to performance ratio!!! PG RSD speakers have been the budget speaker forum boner on DIYMA and many other forums for some time now.

Complaints that stock speaker cutout is a bit larget will not be tolerated. While you are at it modify / treat the speaker mounting location:

Make a 6x8 to 6" adaptor using thin MDF. Cut the inside hole to match the diameter of the speaker's mounting diameter. Seal up the door. Even with head unit power these speakers should sound really nice!

Is it reasonably possible to get 6x9s in the back of a Supercab?
