looking for canopy, help

I would like to get a canopy for my 99 ranger xlt ext cab 4x4. Im assuming its short bed. How specific are canopy's vs fitment? is there specific canopys for certain models, makes, years, etc? im sure there is, but how vast?

guess i need to know what to look for when browsing craigslist. thanks

i just took a cap off an 92 ranger xtra cab and it fits my 04 but could be a inch or two wider.. here's a pic for referance..

Any Ranger cap from 93-present will work fine, assuming you're looking for one for the 99, just make sure it's the proper bed length and bed style. Older ones may fit, but if they're slightly narrow, depending on the style of the cap that could be a fit issue. Other brands may or may not fit as well. When you buy a new cap, it's vehicle specific.
