It doesn’t make sense to make an adapter for a 25 year old Ford engine (that was only available in Rangers and Explorers) to adapt it to a 25 year old GM trans???? That sounds like a great idea.

Yes, they do. They were sold (and quite popular) from 1984 until 1997. I've known a number of people who owned them over the years.

I just had an epiphany. Put a small block chevy in the engine bay and then the 700r4 would fit without an adapter.
