looking for a 4.0 motor

i wanna do a motor swap into my ranger put a 4.0 in place of the current 2.9 any suggestions on where i can find a complete motor ive already checked the junkyard in town and havent had any luck let me know if theres any web sites or places i can order one from thanks a bunch

If you have enough money to order an engine from somewhere, buy an old, beat up Explorer instead. Not only would that get you the engine, but tranny, Tcase, and D35/8.8" axles.

I was thinking this as well. I didn't know where the OP is from. From his username, I was thinking possibly Utah (so I was going to help locate one).

You can find junk Explorers for $1k or less.. I agree that'd be your best bet

I saw one a while ago up in Salt Lake....but they never last long. I haven't seen any recently

That's okay, it's for the best. I shouldn't be looking for a new motor right now anyway. Seeing as my running truck isn't road-worthy as it sits.

im in texas san antonio to be exact i need any 4.0 that will fit an any 90s model ranger perferable with less than 200, thousand miles on it and for 500 or less
