Looking at a 1994 B4000 4X4

I am looking at possibly getting a 1994 Mazda B4000 ext. cab 4X4. The truck has 189,000 miles on it and I know the clutch and transmission were recently replaced. This truck also has the manually locking hubs. I am just wondering if I should worry about anything from this year of ranger/mazda. The only reason I might get it is be getting it is because it is $2000 and would like to know if you guys think it will be fairly dependable.

Eh, she's getting up there in millage but the 4.0's a good engine. If she's been really well cared for I'd possibly go for it, as long as it's not eating oil and/or coolant. Once you get up into millages like that, it's buyer beware. I'd be ready to but some money into her in the near future if you bought it......


I'd say test drive it and if it seems solid go for it! Talk him down on the price a little if you can but 2k for that truck ain't too bad to start with..... assuming everything in on the up n' up.

I just picked up a 94 ranger 4.0 4x4 auto with 181,000 miles for 1500. Runs perfect. Those 4.0 are great motors and last a long time if taken care of.
