lookin for help designing an enclosure for 4 10's

yah i was thinkin the same thing cuz just with the two subs, my voltage drops to low 13's at idle on certain songs that draw alot of power...you know where i could get one for a decent price?

its done!! minus the finish for the box..but i have yet to decide that...heres what it looks like:

thats pretty nice even unfinished. definitly one of the better installs here. good work

yes, it's nice and clean.

i'm thinking some black paint would finish it off really nice.

carpet sometimes doesn't always look right. black paint would match the subs, and keep them looking aggressive.

maybe some neon in the port holes ? lol, somewhat serious

i was really considering gettin it linex'd but it'd be like $250...thats alot of money to finish a box!! so im not sure now..and its a pita to get in and out..i have to pull out each sub first(cuz the box is secured to the truck from the inside of each chamber) and pull out my front seats cuz it has to slide straight forward...hahaha and its rediculously heavy

any other suggestions tho?

what you all think bout herculiner? its bout $40 quart or something like that and you roll it on..

i've heard good reviews on herculiner... but definitely let the box air out for a couple of days to a week i would say, so you don't get fumes trapped in your cab, who knows what those chemicals can do to your subs.

honestly, i would suggest doing it right. just pull everything out. and i would go with some sort of DIY bedliner to coat the box. no point in taking the time to build such a nice box and then half-ass covering the box.

pullin it out tho is such a pain in the ass..especially if theres not a second set of hands to help you.

but no doubt id do it right..im just not sure what to do..i want a finish that is a little tough cuz im in construction and once ina while when i end up havin to do a material run at home depot, i put my tools in my truck, and some end up on the sub box..so i want somethin thats scratch resistant, looks good, and wont cost and arm and a leg..

if you want it done right, then you'll pull it out.

you spent all that money on the set up, so treat it right.

With the subs you are using you need to use 3/4 mdf. Use the formula H*W*D and then divide that by 1728 to figure the internal volume of the box. You must subtract the thickness of you material before you figure your volume though. Also acount for your dividers between chambers. You should have 50" overall width in your cab. I have built quite a few boxes for comps and won 8 of the 10 I have entered in. I am new here just got my first ranger but if you give me some measurements I will for the heighth under your window and the depth available I will try to do some figuring for you.

I'm sorry I replied before i saw you had your box done. Nice set up. If you want to pull the box out to refinish it I do alot of boxes w/ bondo and sand and custom paint them and they turn out kick ass. We have done some w/ flames and alot of airbushing with some cheap clear they look great and hold up good

thanks for the compliment..and the idea..i dont think i want to paint it tho..well honestly, i have no idea what i want to do, and im not in to big of a hurry since its already in and sounds great..:headbang:
