well my friend says could it have anything to do with factory 4X4. the differential is mounted in one of the I-beams. is it that Ibeam? could that have been somewere that could be cut out for 4x4 or something? idk just a question.

The truck has nothing to do with factory 4x4, and they use completely setup. Nope no way it could have been there for 4x4. By skunk catcher I think he's refering to the fact it's so low and just sticking out there to catch something, ya know in the spirit of cow catchers on trains.
