Long drives?

The furthest I've taken mine is from Cincinnati (I live about 30 minutes west from here) to Columbus, OH and done it three times already. Once for a car show and twice to National Trail Raceway. I'm planning on doing it again this Labor Day weekend this September when the NMRA (National Mustang Racing Association) goes to National Trail Raceway.

Made many trips between Pittsburgh and Syracuse or Watertown, NY when my kids lived up there. I would routinely do Pittsburgh to Syracuse and back in a day, 700 miles and 12 hours, to pick my kids up for my one weekend a month. Only issue is that the seats aren't real supportive for long days of driving and your butt gets tired. I got a Sport Trac in 2005 and another in 2008, their seats are much more comfy. In '08 me, wife #2, and my kids drove straight through to Ft. Myers, FL, about 22 hours and it wasn't a bad trip at all.

I would say just change the oil, check all the other fluids and filters and air in the tires, and motor on.

Drive over the Champlain bridge a few times. It will stress test every part of the vehicle and if nothing broke your good to go.

lol! have you tried the Mercier Bridge lately, you can see the water through the pavement! I realy think that Montreal roads would be smoother if they were just all dirt!

Does Montreal still have the pothole contest? Where in the spring you win if you can find a pothole that can swallow a VW bug?

No, I dont think so... but theres one five minutes from my place that my entire truck fits in it! thank god it's not too deep...I discovered it with my girlfriends V6 mustang doing 70 km/h....ya...ouch.

Whats pathetic though is that when they patch up the pot holes, they make it worse, so insted of having a hole, they make a big bump... kinda like a speed bump...for one wheel...on the highway...every 20 feet! ... No wonder my truck cracks and rattles all over!

I have made a couple trips up to Purdue but nothing major in the Ranger yet. My CBR on the other hand, rode it TDY from Alamogordo, NM to Shepperd AFB. 499 miles 1 way. I would do it again in a heart beat. That does not include my weekend trip down to Plano, TX. Great times.

I regularly make thousand-plus mile trips in mine (with 224k on the clock as of this afternoon), and only complaints are that my seat is worn out, and my mileage isn't what I think it should be.

Other than that, I'd rather drive it than my 3-year old CorollaS.

Corolla....probably the most boring car I have ever driven...I wouldnt drive far in a corolla, I would fall asleep and crash. I'm sure Toyota let the gas pedal thing pass for a few years just to add a little excitement to the car!

When I'm not in a good mood I like to drive and when I ended a particularly nasty relation two summers ago, I wasn't in a good mood so I packed a few extra shirts and took off on i-80 towards omaha drove up north through south dakota and back down i-90, definitely was able to blow off some steam and was able to really enjoy my ranger since I only bought it two weeks prior to that. Also got to visit the worlds largest truck stop:icon_thumby:

500 miles for me. The ranger is no touring car. It's not a torture chamber but the SE-R is way nicer. I can't imagine anyone taking a roadtrip in a Ranger unless they didn't have anything better.

Agreed. I rode in my friend's '08 Corolla. I think I like my '94 Ranger better. The only way to make that car better would be to put a turbo on it. Then, at least it'd have something fun.

Ahha yes, the good ole Iowa 80. Sadly, I've only been there once, but all I have to say was WOW!!!

Wasn't my choice.

I drive 3 hours to get home and 3 hours back to school just about every other weekend. I'd have to say out of all the vehicles I've taken the trip in (including my pops 09 malibu) the ranger ranks number one. Personally I think its got the comfiest seats of any vehicle i've driven, maybe they just fit me perfect. My girlfriends saturn on the other hand... I think whoever designed those seats had some severe scoiliosis or something... Can't drive more than an hour without needing a stretch

You must have too high of standards if you think ranger seats are uncomfortable, shit man, those things are comfortable as hell!
