I would only run a spool in the front for a dd, since it wouldn't be engaged unless you put it in 4x4

<---Welded rear. No complaints here. In fact I've lost more tread on the front than the rear.

And I wouldn't run a spool or welded spiders in the front without hydro assist. You might be able to unlock the hubs, but you won't be able to turn at all off road. Especially in rocks.
