How hard is it to shim a locker

for example a detroit locker or any brand that replaces the carrier and bolts to the ring gear

You can add a shim to a non-lockers side gear. A stock rear, non posi type to make it into a limited slip. Is that what your talking about?

I think he is talking about setting up a differential with a full carrier locker. It is no harder than doing any other carrier/gear swap.....

Just someone who knows how to properly set up a ring a pinion and has all the specialty tools required to do so...
