True but he never told us his budget....so we have to give him the entire cake of locker knowledge all at once (cheaper versus not cheap as opposed to strength versus ease of install).

He left it very open ended.

Budget is always the #1 factor that determines the direction a person will take with mods.

IMO if you have the money for a detroit, you have the money to do a 31 spline rear axle also.... why spend $1200 on the weaker version of the axle?

Id like to do a detroit locker in my 2010, never had one before so i was wondering how they are on the street since this truck is my daily driver. Any info would be greatly appreciated, im tired of this limited slip non sense

honestly.. detroits, aussies, whatever doesn't bother me at all on the street. IF you live where you'll be driving in ice is the main thing to worry about (so i hear, i live in MS so... i don't get ice! lol)

edit: lol you're in AK... better wait to listen to someone else's advice on lockers and ice. most prefer the electric or air lockers for that. its selectable

A locked rearend is far more predictable on slick surfaces than an open diff.
