locked with 31s

hey guys would a dana 28 hold up to 31s if it was locked, or would i just break axles ???

Hmmm, if you beat on it hard enough, it'll most likely break the outer shafts.

It wont last long. I'm only running 31s but I'm upgrading to a D35 and locking it, the D28 will not last.

i had a d28, 31's, a 302 and a heavy rt. foot. the axle lasted about 3.5 seconds

damn i must have been lucky i ran mud 33's on a d28 for about 2 years in mud on rocks and sand and only broke 2 ujoints ever i wasnt locked though thats the only difference from what you want to do

Well, i've got a locked 35 and 31's, and just blew up my driver side shaft with no difficulty, so i doubt a 28 would last long.

Well, you truck is IFS and uses CV joints... But yes a locked d28 wont last long and it will be a waste of time, find a D35 and be done with it.
