I am a camera man, I make movies, lights like these HELP haha, and save a lot of money when so cheap =)

I was going to become volunteer fire, but waiting till I move to Mass. since mom said no to me while I am in high school. Although dad wanted to join with me since he had rebuilt a firetruck and donated it to the fire department when he was in his early 20's.

But I will take it with me to college =) gonna really use it for its main purpose there. Volunteer fire.

Blue lights are volunteer fire here, just about all its used for.

KIP, there's more to being a volunteer firefighter than going down to the fire station signing a piece of paper and spraying water. if you think it's that easy kip, i invite you to put an air pack on and follow me into the next structure fire at 3 am were i have to walk in without a hose line because there's not enough time to get one and there's a 80 year old lady who's bedridden that can not get out on her own. or the propane warehouse is on fire and 20# grille bottles are going up like kids rockets at a science fair.

enough ranting get the training and know what the privilege of that light is.
i'm 41 now and when i was 21 i had to pull my then fiance out of her car she was struck in the side by a drunk and was pronounced DOA. try having a 3 year old daughter to her . OK i vented enough carry on.:annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

I quit reading after the first sentance, I know its not just a signing of the papers. I have friends that joined, and one is the son of the fire chief. Its not an easy task, I have always wanted to be a fireman.

Probably the #1 reason I got it maybe?:icon_thumby:

I have been playing with fire and knives all my life (chased my sister around with a knife when I was 2 aparently), and I still do, but not to where its dangerous. When I heard about my dad saying there might be a fire in our woods, I grabbed 2 hard hats, 2 pairs of heavy-duty gloves, our largest fire ext., our chainsaw, and safety glasses, and sat in the truck with the phone waiting for dad to give me an update on the issue (he was investigating on the ATV).

Kip, try the fire thing out. If it doesn't work out then sell the light. Don't put it on anything until then.

Grey_04, I'm sorry for your loss. My uncle is the county's fire commisioner and used to be the town's volunteer fire chief for a number of years. I can understand how hard it can be to be a fireman, and the ordeals that you have to go through. But you have to remember that Kip is young and yes, immature, but most kids are nowdays. I can be at times too. If he tries it out and it doesn't work for him then he will have learned his lesson. Don't let this turn into a larger arguement, only a child should argue with a child. (sorry for the c word kip.)

We drove it home with it on, we have not put it back on since.

Sorry I did not clear that up,

ALSO, sorry for your loss aswell, I read through it afterward, other than it being off subject, I am not one to argue when it comes to losing a loved one.

It is not honorable or "cool" to have it on there without a purpose, the only use Jason and I can think of even "thinking" of using it with is either an extreme emergency (mother has stroke, brother breaks rib and punctures lung, etc.) to get the hospital, OR for a "controlled environment" film we make (no one can see the lights, or all nearby people are informed of its use as a prop).

Dude, that thing screams GET ARRESTED!

They are illegal in TN! You have to prove you are a cop to even get one here. You can run red and clear for volunteer firefighter, amber for security but not red and blue or blue. Be careful.

In PA its volunteer fire mostly.

We only "put" it on the top of car for the ride home, we made some money pouring concrete and found it cheap and were celebrating.

We took it off when we got to his house from the store, mostly backroads.
Its sitting in his trunk right now.

thanks koda, you couldn't imagine what something like that could mentally do to a person unless it happens to you.

kip, reread my first post I've been a volunteer fire fighter in the commonwealth pf Pennsylvania for 24 years and explained what the the rules in pa are. :annoyed:

well, the way this thread has turned out, this will most likely be my last response to a Ranger Kip post, thread, etc. i know, i was young once myself, but i also remember listening to those older and wiser than me, and taking their counseling seriously. not sure that happens anymore as i don't see much evidence of it. but that's just me.

you never know man, we finally got through to him to let the ranger die peacefully, just took a while.

his ranger would be a good Donner for a better truck. there's a lot of good parts on his but no good base in which to start with. parts from his could live on in another project.:dunno:

I'm trying to get him to buy my 86 actually. his parts could do it some good, haha.

I end all arguements here, I sat down to some food, and I was just hungry, sorry for the wasted time.

@ Hept.

Well, if I get the cash, I am good, but it wont be cheap to ship it to PA...... =p
