I am swapping front bumpers with a friend. Mine as you see has an A&A Specialties air dam attached, his is a stock chrome one. I have read about the horror stories of painting over chrome but has anyone had luck with Line-X over chrome? The reason is the truck has run it's course as a sport truck and soon will have a 5 inch lift on it. Needless to say the "Mustang GT" front air dam definately has ta go!

Also, what kinda price have you paid for a Line-X front bumper job?

Thanks!!!!! :icon_thumby:

prolly about 50 bucks or sooo. is it plastic chrome or metal cause i believe it comes out of the gun and it might melt or warp. but you can paint it just a real good sanding.

It's an OEM chrome bumper. Steel with nickel / chrome on top. The air dam will go with my current bumper cause it is urathaned to my original Splash bumper. Wayyyyy too much trouble to remove. My friend's truck will be lowered and such so that air dam will look better on his 97.

if you have a way to get that bumper sandblasted that will take the chrome off nut be carefull and wear long sleves and deffently a pair of goggles when doing this.. it worked really well on my full size project..:icon_thumby: if you lived closer i'd clean it and primer it for ya..

i LineXed over my rear bumper (wich was chrome) seems to hold up just fine. I sanded the living shit out of it with some 40 grit paper for like a half hour.. if u want i can post some pics but not until it gets daylight lol!!
