i have an 83 ranger and the previous owner put a rebuilt pinto engine in there. its a 2.3 my question is if i order parts for it, say sparkplugs, can i order it as if it had the original engine in it and the parts will work for it? ive researched this but cant seem to find anything maybe im missing something. but i just want to clear that up. thanks, arren

The Pinto 2.3 should be the same as a Ranger 2.3...it's the 2.0 that was apparently an odd-ball...

However, when ordering parts for a transplanted part I always try to stick with the year and vehicle that the transplanted part came from and then cross reference them (the clerks love me for this) with the year that I have to see if there is a difference in part numbers...

It's also a good idea to keep track of what year the parts came from, the part number for that year, and any cross references that may be pertinent to your vehicle...

Of course, I never do this myself...:)

plugs should be autolite 764's gapped to like .042
