Lima drifting build

The squarebody's are way lighter though! The thought of a clean Gen1 or 2 truck with a mustang K member has crossed my mind more than a few times as a future project.

You're off to a great start with it. The rest will fall into place with time and a little money.

Yeah that thing will certainly be way lighter than that big bitch you used to drift around lol. Trucks gonna be sweet good luck

Slowly collecting parts to get the ranger running under Megasquirt. PiDash stuff. 36-1 95 ranger pully for the crank sensor. Scored a 2013 mustang power distribution box for $27. Has 7- 40a relays, 4 of them fused and should really clean up my wiring and I’ll be able to isolate the ecu from the factory wiring.

Grabbing turbo and drive train parts: 8.8 expo rear, turbo coupe T5, Spec clutch, T3/ T4, ported D port head, 65mm 5.0 expo throttle body, ported up and lower intake, complete turbo bottom end. Just need the Valvetrain, to finish the motor. Need a Turbo header( the one in the pic is garbage) and exhaust. Finish the rear end/ driveline and this thing can go together!

Thanks. Should be fun to beat on. I’m still debating on keeping the ac. I’ve gotten pretty far but down to the big ticket items, so a few months and it should start to come together. Plus it gives me time to catch up with the part ordering, I have so much crap to install, redo, or just fix.

Have been running megasquirt on my 2.9 for a little over a year.

Best thing I've ever done to any vehicle. Ever.

No better diagnostics or control over the engine for similar scratch.

It's a cult. And it's awesome.

The pi dash, to me, is the more interesting part. I can’t wait to get tuner studio on it.
I’m waiting for someone to call out my over usage of my angle grinder on the radiator support.
I've been toying with the idea. As well as just an arduino sniffing sensor wires and outputting to 80s style gauge in the overhead console.

Watching to see what you can do with it. Have thought about going to a in dash pc a few times just so I can adjust sh*t on the fly if need be.

Can sniffer ... Potential is huge.

I’m roughly $250 in on the pi dash, including the acrylic I’m mounting it to. This is all Raspberry Pi products or endorsed products. The cables were eBay/ amazon specials. The only other thing I may need is new fuel sending unit as I believe that input can be calibrated and rather start new than try and run the issue down later?
I may end up spending the money on a faster micro sd card to speed up the boot time and wish I had done so in the beginning.
Another thing: I haven’t fixed the shutdown/ power supply issue yet but found an old forum post from Raspberry that hopefully will fix it.
I have everything to Squirt the Ranger but it’s my only vehicle. So I’m going to find a beater this month and hopefully get that party started!

Bookmarked this thread. Might be helpful for my project.
