lights on when radio on

Ok first off I live in Canada so I have DRL. When I want to listen to the radio I turn the key backwards and my headlights come on is this normal, if not how do I fix it. It makes listening to the radio while parked a real PITA. I guess I should mention it is an aftermarket radio.

Pull the radio and see if it still happens. It sounds like someone wired ACC power to RUN power.
