Lights flash when key turned on

My first time here, don't know if this is the right place for this post but here it goes, I have a 1999 Ranger XLT 4x4 and when you put the key in the ignition and turn it on, (not start it) all the normal lights, check engine, brake, seatbelt, etc. come on, but at the end of the computers normal system check the dash lights or should I say all the lights except the headlights flash twice. Has anyone had this happen and what causes it? Is this something I should be worried about? The truck fires up and runs fine, but hey the double flash of the lights is driving me bonkers. Thanks Folks.

you should see the self test the new internationals go through before you start them....
