Light Weight Construction Tires

Would you buy brand new tires, but dated 25th and 47th weeks of 2023, June & November 2023? Tires are normally good for 6 - 10 years, 6 being industry standard for thorough inspection and/or change them! Your thoughts?

For something I don't drive much and at a very significant discount? Heck ya

It's my DD. Tires are coming from priority tires, same as other online retailers. They said tires are stored in an environmentally controlled warehouse. I pass by their yuuuge warehouse, down the street from here. Am thinking they will be ok, and should be due for change in just about 5 years. But I wanted to hear others' thoughts on this.

well the tires currently on my '90 have been on there since around '11 and have some light checking but hold air, I try not to air them down too far as I don't want to blow a bead which would likely never stay seated without bead glue... it's on my list to get replacements but good mud terrain 35's aren't cheap...

being a couple years old wouldn't worry me, getting around 10 years is usually my cutoff for automotive tires...

Mine is a daily driver too. My first concern is safety. Trafic can be be very dicey, even unpredictable, especially in the snow and the rain. While I am concerned about mileage, I'm far more concerned about traction in close call situations which occur which happen with a certain regularity, about once every two years. Somebody pulls in front of me, goes through a red light, or wanders into my lane. And when this happens I need to brake and swerve to get out of harm's way. I see good tires as my best insurance policy. I want to keep my twenty three year old Ranger running indeinitely and invested accordingly.

I bought a set of oversized Coopers, a vast improvement over stock, especially in bad weather.

Mileage is my last concern. But it is a concern. I did all the tricks this forum recommends for my vulcan v6. I bought a KC filter, got an efan, installed a nice dual exhaust, sea foamed the engine, the oil, the injectors, and switched to synthetic oil.

I drive it pretty hard and love those four ten rear end jack rabbit starts. My mileage is about the same as when it was new.
