I have been looking for a good way to lift my truck. I have been looking for something cheap but also good quality. I have look at alot of the stores but they are mostly over 700-1800$. Then i thought i'll ask the people who bought kits. I was also thinking of making my own bracets and blocks then all i would need is the springs and shocks. I also want a light bar but i could make that. What is your opinion?

Honestly, the cheapest way to lift your truck is with a body lift. You can pick one up from performance accessories for about $200. This will give you the extra height to tack on bigger tires and get some extra clearance. Then just save your money for a suspension kit, skyjacker is probably one of the better kits.

As for making your own brackets....there is an article in the tech library on this subject, however, I would not recommend it unless you are an experienced welder or know someone who is.

Good Luck

if u want a quality lift, then blocks are not the way. same goes for a body lift. they just look plain goofy. just save up some money to buy a quality lift kit and u wont keep wanting to make changes to the cheap lift.

C_note is correct, if you want a good quality lift that will improve articulation and offroad handling its not oging to be cheap, there is the possibility that you could find a goood used lift but they are rare, and you have to be careful.
