I have a 99 Ranger XLT 2wd ext.cab 5spd manuel that I want to put a 3" P/A body lift kit on. When I do this, do I have to extend the shifter at all? If so where can I find the shift extender in order to do so?

The kit should come with all the extensions for your shifter and anything else needed.

I own a 99 2WD 5sp. regular cab ranger. I recently threw on a 3in body lift by performance accessories. You will need the shifter extension when you buy the kit. It usually does not come with most kits. The price is usually about another $30-$40. I think the part number is 3700. Hope this helps.

Thanks, this does help me. Where do I order the shifter extender from?

I will do some research tonight and see where I bought it from. I believe I paid a total of $200 for everything. I will post again later tonight.

Alright, I found the website that I bought it off of. The website is called (www.streetsideauto.com). The 3'' body lift is $169.99 and the shift extension (#3700) is $33.99. At this website, they do free shipping on orders over $50. PM me if you still need some advice.

Thanks so much this really helped me and saved me alot of time. Now let me ask you one more question: Was doing all of this to your Ranger worth it?

Yea it was. Just make sure you have money saved up ahead of time for bigger tires. Because I installed it without needing new tires, so now I got to wait until mine wear down. The lift definitely gives the truck a meaner stance. Hope this helps. Put some pics of your truck up here.

Does yours perform better offroad? But I was thinking about this the other day... would it really be worth it to lift a 2wd when I could just trade it in for a 4wd and do better off road no matter what> I mean, am I right?

If you are looking for an offroad truck, then I would look at getting a 4wd truck. I bought my 2wd, because I really don't offroad. Don't get me wrong, I want to. If you are able to trade it for a 4wd, then I would go for it. I would ask other members on here that own 2wd and use them for offroading. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.
