Lifting my 97

Should work, but you will still have crap parts. Might as well just put some good parts under it if you are going to do that much work. But if you do weld it, post pictures!!

sounds to me like 1 ton time or swap in a 2.3 for less broken parts lol

Yeah, its something I would like to do but I dont think i could justify the effort for this build. I would not gain any strength, maybe some performance but I am not really limited by flex or traction. The simple fact is that the weight of the truck with the 35" tires is too much for the axle shafts.

It is going to linger in the back of my mind for a while though.......

Check with gwaii... IIRC, his "truck" has a D50 front that's welded into one beam.

u did pull the dana 50 outta the f 250 didnt u? maybe graba set of coil overs and fab up some radius arms 4 it and throw that under there. its wat i always wanted to do when i had my ranger

Took it out again last weekend. This time I fully welded the caps into the shafts so that they would help hold the axle shaft together. It worked great!

Until it broke the axle shaft inside the diff and then I couldnt get the stub out of the diff to put the new shaft in. LAME!

your going to make d35 shafts extincted lol

Log on and check your PM's fool!

Yard sale!
