Lifting bed dump-truck style

I see it being able to be done if the bed is removed and a second set of bed rails is hinged at the rear. then the bed is bolted to teh second set with a specialized bed crossmember for moutning the hydraulic ram.

If he just wants to dump snow out, then he must remove 100% of the bed botls (6) and then just lift it up. preferable with a friend.

I wanted to convert the '36 to a dump-bed.................until i realized i'd bend the funning ...errr....running boards/rear fenders where they bolted together...:annoyed:

I did manage to lay planks & cover them with a 1/4" thick sheet of aluminum diamond-plate....remove 4 screws/slide out diamond-plate/slide out planks----10 minutes and a Dr.Pepper....work on drivetrain & fuel tank......waaaaahahahhhaahaaa

It is possible to make one dump. I did it on my 89. I could tilt it with one hand before I added air shocks and a small compressor to tilt it. Someone said you may have to trim the bed.. No you don't I had ground effects and it still cleared the cab... I used heavy duty gate hinges to tilt mine.. The question is Is it worth all the time and effort... The answer is not really.

Although it would be pretty handy when you decide its time for the hitchhikers to get out.
