I found a lift for a 1998-2009 2wd Ranger
It is just a coil spacer and shackle lift but it says itsfor 1998-2009 only.
Is there any reason this wont work on my 1988 BII 2wd. I would think it would work, but just checkin thanks

Well the shackle will work on your truck cause leaf springs pretty much never changed but you have a ttb suspension. so the coil diameter gets smaller in the last couple inches so it sits on a stud on the beam. in 98 to 09 the shock goes down the center of the coil spring and it stays the same diameter the whole time. so simply the spacer will be too big width-wise so if you just want the shackle go for it but the spacer will be useless. look for the spacers for anything up to 97 those should be the right ones.

No, it will not work. The shackle will, but not the coil spacer, the 98+ Rangers had a totally different front suspension compared to your BII.

If your BII is anything like my 2wd BII was, swapping to Explorer springs will not lift the front either.

You should be able to use F-150 spring perches (there's a thing on the tech pages about lifting this way) on the front and a drop shackle for a Chevy 1500 to get 2" of lift. You should be able to pick up the perches and the shackle for around $100 and will only need an alignment.
