Lift $

Exactly what he said.

You should look into getting the fa600 instead of the 400 that comes with a standard lift kit, maybe they can hook you up.

As stated, lifting above 6" on a TTB is not typically recommended for a few reasons... You can't buy lift brackets that big, so to do it you need to either fab custom brackets, or not be able to align it. Also, if you try to get full flex out of more than 6" of lift, you'll start binding axle shafts on axle beams and shit. Finally you have the steering problems mentioned before, as the FA600 pitman arm is good for only 6" of lift at most, and its the only long arm on the market.

Yeah, not gonna go above 6" for sure anyway. BTW thanks everyone for the great info, this site is the best!

You might get a hold of the jackit.com guys, and find out what arm comes in their kit. They sell kits pieced together with the best parts from all the lift companies.

Ughhh. OK fellas change of plans....scratch the 6" lift for now. Money is getting tight this yr. but I still want to increase the offroading prowess of the little ranger. Still on my list is: lockers (aussie front which is a bit cheaper than the lock-rite), C-clip eliminators, lock-rite in the rear, and regear to 4:10 or 4:56 (thinking maybe I could get a 4:10 used to save $). Looking at getting 31X10.5X15 MTs (have aggressive P rated AT's now in 235X75X15) and doing the washer lift front and maybe shackles in rear if needed. Does anyone think I will need shackles for the rear or just raise the front? Manual hubs would be nice but are now on the short list since the autos are working so far. Kick in the arse I know...what do you all think? Oh almost forgot, still deciding on winch but will probly build a mount inside the stock front bumper in front of the rad. somehow.

I would suggest spending the money on a front locker on a lift instead. Having two lockers is a stock-height truck seems like a big waste of money to me.

If this isn't a daily driver you should look into a spool for the rear, its cheaper than a locker... That should supply you with enough funds to get some lift. Also, the junkyard is your friend. You can get some explorer leaf springs, and repack them with some of your stock springs for a bit of lift... Shackles are a cheap way to get some lift outta the back too.

For the front your options are more limited, but if you keep your eyes open you can find brackets/coils for a reasonable price used. There was a set of brackets and 6" lift springs for like $160 just the other week on here somewhere.

Just 'cause money is tight you dont have to abandon all hope. You just have to reassess what is a priority.

As far as a locker for the front...I'm gonna regear anyway (got 3:27's) so I thought what the heck I'm in there so for about $250-300 extra I'd put it in. I despise open diffs with a passion! It will be a DD/offroad work truck, not much hwy. at all. I'm kinda liking the light weight, low slung, little rabbit like truck zipping through the woods anyway (ducking under gates and tree limbs) so the 6" lift is out for now. Just want to put on 31" MT's and get all 4 tires turning with traction and focus on that for now. Gonna put a winch on the front for goober extraction purposes. Might look at belly protection on vital spots as well. What is the cost of a spool and what are its disadvantages on a DD?

I just came across a screaming deal on Kansas City Craigslist. $400 complete D35 w/ 6" skyjacker kit, 4.88s and a locker.

If I had any interest in TTB junk, I'd buy that...
