Whats the cheapest way to accomplish a safe lift on a Stock 2wd truck?

Going mainly for looks as of right now, so improved offroad performance doesn't matter.

make your own body lift out of some 2" exhaust tubing and welding washers on both sides. you can make it anywhere from 0-3" for about $30.

I would try a body lift, but I've heard that they're hard to do, and I'm only 16 with limited resources.
